Harry Redknapp or Holly Willoughby. Tough choice.

They've both had their knockers over the years.

I can't help having this picture in my minds eye of Billy Bonds watching Harry covered in 80 rats and thousands of cockroaches and snarling "Now you know what it's like you dodgy Twitchy caaaaant". Ha !.

The thing is it is quite degrading to go into a programme where you might be eating an anus one moment or getting covered in cockroaches and spiders shitting all over your face the next.
Harry said as much when he said I wonder what all the other managers are thinking of me.
I think he came off a bit like everyone's doddering but loveable old grandad, but he also did every trial without a second thought and supported everyone around him which I think won him the show, but is anyone surprised that Harry Redknapp is so good at putting his arm around people and softly and calmly encouraging them, he has been doing it for many years already as a manager.

I don't hate the bloke, but the chirrpy, salt of the earth act, is just that - an act.

Oh, and he's a cunt for managing Tottenham. If I'd played and managed West Ham, then gone to them cunts I'd expect to be called one.

The fact that I'm a cunt anyway, is besides the point.

Yes it's most unfair of Harry to take a job managing Spurs after getting sacked by Terry Brown...

To be fair, Harry gave us a fair few years of entertainment, without getting relegated, and he still got an applause when he returned with Portsmouth.

The thing that really grates with most of us is him going to Spurs. He knew the modern day rivalry between us - although things were much more different, between the two clubs, back in his playing days.
I suppose, when they came calling, it was an opportunity he simply couldn’t turn down.

Anyway, I’ve gained a bit more respect for him after watching this show.

I watched as my son loves it and he was rooting for Harry for his West Ham history.

Think a lot of dads (and some mum's ) watched to root Holly.

She's lovely.

Not that I give a shit, but stands to reason that people born in chadwell heath would say they're actually from dagenham, Ilford, romford etc.

I was born in rush green but always say dagenham, as no cunt from outside the area has heard of rush green and it saves explaining where it is.

As for Harry, he was decent value and so probably deserved his win.

I don’t think there’s anything strange in a club our size buying fringe players from the likes of Liverpool. They were both horrific signings in hindsight to be fair.

I’ve just always really liked Redknapp and that may be partly because of the charm he undoubtably has, but mainly it’s because of the football we played under his reign. On the back of him signing Di Canio alone he’s welcome to bang my Nan - and she’s been gone for years!

Pagey, you don’t think there was anything iffy in buying Song & Camara who I believe were under his agent son & the other being Mackay who’s since been investigated. Stank at the time given they were 3 players that couldn’t get in the first teams at their clubs. Redknapp knew a decent player & i doubt very much he was thinking bargain with those 3.

I don’t hate the man either, I don’t think he has ever had it bad off our lot when he came back with the y’s. I just don’t get the affection for him still.

Re: The I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here thread
Meanwhile Bonds went on to manage Millwall. Shit happens.

Redknapp is far from innocent but to suggest that he purposely brought in a load of shit players to line his own pocket is mental. He thought he could buy bargains galore with the Rio money to improve the team and squad and it didn’t work out.

Anyway, it’s all about opinions and the Redknapp years were by far my favourite as a fan, I’m fairly certain he’s not the only shifty manager there’s ever been in football.

I can understand the dislike for him from some but the level of hatred is ridiculous.

Re: The I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here thread
I’m really surprised by the amount of affection he still holds with West Ham fans, given that he fucked the club right over after Rio was sold..

Stabbing his mate in the back for the job was bad enough, given that Bonzo was good enough to bring him to the club in the first place. But to then only buy players with the Rio money that had bent agents (one being his son & Willie Mackay the other) & blatantly buy players that were complete pony, specifically to line his pockets was pure geeed.

He was already on a decent contract with us, Terry Brown then gave him 300k out of the Rio money which back then was a tidy amount, but to then feel the need to nick even more dollar & in the process load us up with mostly crap (Song, Camara, Daily etc) players was despicable. You could argue that it harmed the squad massively. He had a good chance to buy decent players & make us a stronger squad at the time, but nope he couldn’t help himself.

For me the man is a proper old billy bullshiter & greedy bastard, two traits that make for a dodgy fucker. Yes he is a decent manager & comes over well on the tv & makes for a bit of light hearted entertainment for those that are silly enough to wear his old spiel, but morals & scruples are certainly not redeeming qualities of his.

For those that ain’t seen it, go to ‘cholo 9:33’ link & have a listen.

You don't know what the fuck you are talking about. A quick look at the rail map will show you that Goodmayes comes between Chadwell Heath and Seven Kings.

And not everyone is a social-climbing snob, Gav, if that's what you mean by the Dagenham/Chadwell Heath thing.

Re: The I'm a Celebrity, get me out of here thread
I DEPENDS ON WHO YOU ARE TALKING TO YOU STUPID CUNT.

Most people have never heard of Chadwell Heath. If you come from the Goodmayes end, you'd be likely to say Ilford, If you come from the bit down by Vallance Avenue or Whalebone Lane South you're likely to say you're a Dagenham Boy. Every time you address an envelope to your dear old Mum, you address it to Romford. You paid your rates to Barking council, so you're from there too since about 1870.

What the fuck do you know about anything anyway?

If you LIVE in Chadwell Heath and are FROM barking, of course you might consider yourself a 'Barking boy'.

If youre BORN in Chadwell Heath, you'd either say you were from Chadwell Heath or Romford.

'Literally nobody from Chadwell Heath would claim they were from Barking. Romford and Dagenham, possibly.'

What, despite them coming roughly a third each from the old boroughs of Ilford, Barking (& Dagenham) and Romford?

Coming from about a mile down the road and having family that still live there, as I do, I'll bow to your superior knowledge.
